1789 Restaurant Offers Enticing American Holiday Dining For The Perfect Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2002
Washington, D.C. -- The winter season sees a flurry of restaurant visitors as patrons search for a distinctive dining experience that captures the holiday spirit. A traditional Washington favorite, 1789 Restaurant in Georgetown will be decked for the holidays. Set in a historic Federal townhouse illuminated by gas lanterns, the interior of 1789 Restaurant provides a classic holiday setting complete with a cozy working fireplace and Pino’s intimate bar; an ideal locale for the night before Christmas.
By mid-December, 1789 Restaurant will be festively dressed by General Manager William Watts, whose passion for landscaping is evidenced in his creations for the restaurant, utilizing seasonal greenery, holiday flowers and glowing candles. In addition to Lacoste’s signature rack of lamb, seafood items such as oyster and champagne stew and Nantucket Bay scallops are holiday standouts. Added touches from the pastry shop of 1789 include freshly baked gingerbread men and signature parting gifts of homemade jams or fresh baked breads.
On Christmas Eve carolers will entertain while patrons feast on holiday treats from the kitchen as they choose between the prix-fix and a la carte menus created by Executive Chef Ris Lacoste. For New Year’s Eve, patrons will enjoy the same inviting surroundings and a festive a la carte menu. Diners will ring in the New Year with noisemakers, balloons, hats, streamers, beads, and a midnight champagne toast.
1789 Restaurant is located at 1226 36th Street, NW and offers complimentary valet parking. Christmas Eve dinner is served from 4 to 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve dinner is served from 5 to 11 p.m. For reservations please call 202-965-1789.
